Children And Adolescent

CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS SESSIONS - FACE TO FACE

A number of our contracted mental health professionals are trained to deliver specialist counselling, psychotherapy and creative art therapy services to children and adolescents under the age of 18. These services are limited and only delivered in a face-to-face setting and, as such, the standard fee rate (€60) applies. Child and adolescent clients must be registered under the name of and with the consent of a parent or guardian. Once the client reaches the age of 18, a new account will automatically be set up in their own name and they can manage their therapeutic engagement independently.

CHILD AND ADOLESCENTS SESSIONS
- FIRST APPOINTMENT

For children under the age of 13, the first appointment will take the form of a meeting between the assigned mental health professional and the parent(s) or guardian(s), without the presence of the child. This allows the mental health professional to learn more about the client and the reason(s) for their engagement, and for the parent/guardian to learn more about the therapeutic process. For those aged 13 to 16, a parent(s) or guardian(s) is required to attend the first appointment and sign a consent form. For this and all subsequent appointments, clients up to the age of 16 should be accompanied by a parent/guardian, who is required to remain in the building for the duration, but not be present for the therapy session.
