About me:

Approach: Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, Person-Centred Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

Qualification: Judit holds a Master’s Degree in Psychotherapy and a Higher Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from DBS and also has a B.A. (Hons) in Education from Eötvös Loránd University Hungary. She is a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP) and abides by their Code of Ethics and Practice. She attends regular supervision and is committed to ongoing professional development.

Judit’s style is firmly rooted in the humanistic approach to counselling and psychotherapy. She follows the co-creative process of the therapeutic encounter while respecting the client’s individuality and capacity for self-direction and self-healing. Her methods are non-directive and exploratory in nature looking to assist with the integration of mental, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of a person. Her work is also informed by Gestalt, Existential, Psychoanalytic, Psychodynamic, Cognitive – Behavioural (CBT) and Attachment theories and practices and incorporates Bodywork and Mindfulness when appropriate.

She is also a qualified Bio-Energy Therapist with a solid background in holistic approaches to health and healing. For her, the integration of the insights of the ancient wisdom traditions is just as important in enhancing her own personal and professional capacity as the contemporary evidence – based approaches to counselling and psychotherapy.

Judit believes in the healing and restorative potential of the therapeutic relationship and works to establish a trusting and supporting space where clients can safely explore their life experiences and work through any associated feelings. This unique relationship also offers an opportunity for clients to understand how they relate to the world, to others and more importantly to themselves. Judit’s aim is to assist her clients with the development of an increased self-respect and personal integrity aiding in their authenticity and well-being.

Having worked with people from different backgrounds and ages presenting with a range of difficulties and life challenges, Judit reckons that those who are ready to take responsibility for their own lives and engage in a journey of self-understanding and self-awareness will eventually find their own strength and resources within, develop resilience, and an increased capacity to support themselves.
